The author does a good job of going over the basics of the body and mind If you aren t familiar with somatics she does a good job of explaining themI have exercised regularly for 20 years I ve worked on somatics before but stopped after several months because I wasn t seeing any results and sometimes felt worse afterwards I bought this book to give it a try again and see if maybe I had done them wrong in the pastUnfortunately after 3 months I did not make progress with any of the exercises in this book I can t afford to pay a somatics instructor either so I m left a bit disillusioned by the whole idea of somatics It makes sense and seems to work for other people but I can t get anything than a little bit of momentary relief from it sometimes other times I feel worse afterwards I guess nothing works for everyone
