Sakai ↠ 9 Free read Summary Settlers The Mythology of the White Proletariat Book presents US history from a working class revolutionary and non white perspective Missing the kind of academic rigor expected of contemporary political philosophy the book is absent large numbers of supporting citations and is riddled with illogical statements ignored in favour of subjective polemics that are not critically analysed or supported As a non American looking to understand race relations in America I am absolutely confused at the sheer number of ahistorical assertions that seem to have no grounding in statistics or facts If you re trying to understand racism in contemporary Western society or are interested in the material factors of oppression this is probably the last book you should read Of particular note is the author s endless assertions that material reality such as class doesn t really exist and seems completely incompatible with developing the kind of anti racist working class politics that used to be very common within the left The author s key premise is completely at odds with any kind of liberatory politics and completely incompatible with a leftist marxist or even a liberal or libertarian view which appears to make it somewhat irrelevant in today s political climate

Sakai ↠ 9 Free read Summary Settlers The Mythology of the White Proletariat The authoritative attack on the idea that the American working class is primarily whi Settlers has been the most influential book I ve ever read clueing me into the revisionism and pro imperialism endemic among the white Euro Amerikan Left since its birth Sakai chronicles the history of Euro Amerikans since they first set foot on the North American continent and the genocide exploitation and oppression that has been perpetuated through the centuries The contradictions between oppressor and oppressed nations is conveniently overlooked by the white Left and Sakai s analysis focuses exactly on that and the historic facts that back his theory up As the title says Sakai breaks down the myth of the white proletariat as well as the benefits of strategic racial integrationalism which has historically resulted in further oppression of the oppressed time immemorial This should be complusory reading for all communists of any race for the brilliant insights Modern white communists continue to disregard Sakai s theory as the imperialist charateristic of the priveleged white Left lives on unabashedly Let this timeless classic be a warning to future leftists of what can happen when the contradictions between nations are not taken into account
